# Partially updates a single style custom field definition by ID (RFC 6902 JSON Patch).

> Applies a JSON Patch document (RFC 6902) to a style custom field owned by the current organization. PATCH is a partial update: a field an operation touches is written, an omitted field is preserved (preserve-on-omit). A 'replace' to null on a nullable scalar (userDefinedId, maxChar) clears that column; supply a non-null value or omit the field to preserve it. allowedValues and associated brands / groups / style categories follow RFC 6902 replace-set semantics when touched: the resulting array is the full desired set — an empty array clears all associations — while an omitted collection preserves the existing rows. Patch paths targeting read-only fields (/position) or unknown fields return 400 / 422. state=deleted is rejected; use DELETE /api/style-custom-fields/{id} so delete-time rules fire. A failed 'test' op is 409; any other inapplicable op is 422.
